Job Title: Battery Science Student Internship / Thesis
Location: Cabot Battery Materials GmbH, Münster
Duration: Flexible (min. 6 months for part time internships)
Position Type: Part-Time Student Internship (8-16 hours per week) / Thesis (Full Time)

CABOT Corporation is a global specialty chemicals and performance materials company. At our newly established R&D center for battery materials in Münster we are supporting the European cell manufacturers and OEMs in building lithium-ion cells with our cutting-edge research facility. We are dedicated to advancing the field of energy storage to address critical challenges in renewable energy, electric transportation, and more. We are a newly formed team in the growing phase, and we are excited to offer a student intern position for passionate and motivated science students who are eager to contribute to the future of energy storage.
 


Position Overview:
Are you a science student pursuing a master's degree and interested in gaining hands-on experience in the field of battery industry? If so, we invite you to join our team as a Battery Science Student Intern / Thesis. In this role, you will work closely with our battery R&D team to conduct experiments, collect data, and assist in various laboratory activities related to battery research. This internship provides a unique opportunity to apply your academic knowledge in a real-world laboratory setting and contribute to groundbreaking research projects.
 


Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist in the preparation and assembly of battery prototypes.
  • Conduct experiments to evaluate battery performance and characteristics.
  • Perform material characterization tests and analyze results.
  • Assist in data collection, recording, and analysis.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with research scientists on ongoing projects.
  • Keep detailed records of experimental procedures and results.

Anforderungen

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a master's program in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering).
  • Strong interest in battery science and energy storage technologies.
  • Excellent laboratory skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Basic knowledge of battery materials and electrochemical processes is a plus.
  • Safety-conscious mindset when working in a laboratory environment.
